American Motorcyclist Association
Pickerington, OH The American Motorcyclist Association is a 265,000-member-plus organization with an unparalleled history of pursuing, protecting and promoting the interests of the world's largest and most dedicated group of motorcycle enthusiasts. Founded in 1924, the AMA exists to further the interests of American motorcyclists, while serving the needs of its members.
The AMA is the premier defender of motorcyclists’ rights in the United States. The work of the AMA Government Relations Department extends beyond AMA members to all motorcyclists. Staff members ferret out bad laws and anti-motorcycling discrimination at the local, state, federal and corporate level. When critical issues and problems arise, education, common sense, political clout and, when necessary, compromise are used to make changes beneficial to all riders -- even those who aren't AMA members.
The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum
Pickerington, OH The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum is set conveniently in the central Ohio Columbus suburb of Pickerington, just off Interstate 70. The Museum is more than just a wide range of motorcycles on display, its goal is to tell the stories and history of motorcycling. By virtue of its connection with the AMA and that organization's history, the museum honors those who have contributed notably to our sport – be it racers like Dick Mann, designers like Craig Vetter, or publishers like Floyd Clymer. These are some of the more than 200 motorcyclists who are enshrined into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame, one of the museum's main galleries. A walk past the long wall honoring them will help you conjure the sights and sounds of these motorcycling's greats. In addition to the Hall of Fame, the Museum has three major exhibition halls. Museum staff in consultation with collectors, curators and other experts, define exhibition topics. But the motorcycles in the Museum are just the beginning. Riding gear, photos, literature, sculpture, race-track reconstructions, dioramas, posters, awards, quality casework, graphics and more are used to tell the stories of motorcycling, bringing our heritage to life.

Heroes of Harley Davidson Moves
The Heroes of Harley Davidson January 7, 2005 – After a successful two-year run at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, the Heroes of Harley-Davidson exhibit has now left the building. Like a giant black jigsaw puzzle, the massive exhibit is being disassembled and loaded into a tractor-trailer—not for destruction, but for relocation.
A.D. Farrow Harley-Davidson, located in Columbus, Ohio, and one of the oldest Harley dealers in the country, has purchased the exhibit and plans to give it a permanent home. Bob Althoff, owner of A.D. Farrow, said he fell in love with the exhibit the minute he saw it. Read More Here And Here
Barber Vintage Motorcycle Museum
Birmingham, AL, Museum founder George Barber owned and managed Barber Dairies until it was purchased by Dean Foods in 1998.
Mr. Barber, always an automobile enthusiast, raced, modified and maintained Porsches in the 1970's (63 first place wins) started collecting and restoring classic sports cars in 1989. Dave Hooper, who ran Barber's delivery fleet for 27 years (and was a successful motorcycle racer in his youth), suggested looking at motorcycles, beginning with a trio of Honda V-fours. Dave then donated a couple of his old motorcycles, including a rare 1952 Victoria Bergmeister, to the infant collection. Barber marveled at the detail and beauty of the old bikes and was quickly interested.
"Cars have beautiful paint, but you can't easily see the engine, the suspension or what makes it function. With motorcycles, you can see the engineering, the balance, and to me they are much more
exciting," says Barber. "We never could have built the best collection of Chevys or Fords (too many good collections have already been established), but I think we have the best motorcycle collection in the United States. At the moment we're in the top six in the world – hopefully we can get the world's best motorcycle collection!"

American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association
The American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association Ltd. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to restoring and competing on classic motorcycles. With well over 5,000 members, AHRMA is the largest vintage-racing group in North America and one of the biggest in the world. The association has grown steadily over the years, reflecting the increasing interest in classic bikes.
AHRMA traces its roots to efforts to organize vintage roadracing during the late 1970s in the Northeast. In the early '80s, other groups began emerging around the nation, adding scrambles, observed trials, dirt track and concours events to the competition options available for vintage riders. Among these organizations were the California Vintage Racing Group and, in the Southeast, the Historic Motorcycle Racing Association. By 1986 it was clear that a national organization would be necessary to administer this burgeoning sport. AHRMA was originally formed as a privately held business corporation. Other groups were brought together under one banner and one set of rules, and in 1989 AHRMA was reorganized into the member-owned association of today. The association's national headquarters is in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, with its membership office in Brighton, Michigan, and publications office in Mt. Jewett, Pennsylvania.
29 Dreams Motorcycle Resort
Birmingham, AL A haven for motorcyclists, nestled in the foothills of the Southern Appalachian Mountains, 29 Dreams is located just south of Birmingham, Alabama on scenic Highway 25. Two Wheels Only
Suches, GA . T.W.O. is the first resort of its kind, developed in 1982 for the pure pleasure of touring motorcyclists. While many campgrounds frown on (and ban) all types of two wheeled vehicles, we at T.W.O. have made it our business to make you feel at home during your stay with us. In fact, as our name indicates, we restrict guests to only those who are riding or towing motorcycles.
For reasons of geography (mountains) and the fact that Suches is off the beaten path, T.W.O. remains one of Georgia’s best kept secrets - which is just fine for the thousands of motorcyclists from across the country who have discovered T.W.O.
The area has superb mountain roads to challenge your skills . . . they climb and descend with great curves and fantastic senery. The number one attraction is the fabulous motorcycling roads and surrounding beauty. T.W.O. is nestled in the Heart of the Chattahoochee National Forest, so you’ll find very little commercialism in the way of billboards and the like. For those who ride dual-sports, there are hundreds of miles of Forest Service roads in the National Forest, some starting within a few minutes ride of the lodge. (street legal bikes w/tags / spark arrestors REQUIRED! Stock mufflers suggested.)
Florida Motorcycle Handbook

Florida is a great place to ride motorcycles year round. Being properly licensed or endorsed in one of the first steps to becoming a safer rider. This Motorcycle Operators manual contains valuable information to both novice and more experienced motorcyclists on techniques to operate a motorcycle safely. It also contains information to help prepare new applicants to pass the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles' (DHSMV) written examination for motorcycle licensing.
The greatest factor contributing to motorcycle related crashes, injuries and fatalities is alcohol involvement. After just one drink, alcohol negatively impacts a motorcyclist's ability to balance a motorcycle. It also reduces coordination, judgment, vision and all essential skills for safe motorcycle operation. It is up to all of us to separate drinking form motorcycle riding and to step in to stop others from operating a motorcycle while impaired. Removing alcohol as a crash factor will reduce motorcycle crashes and save lives.
Learning how to ride, or learning to improve current riding skills, is also important. Courses for beginner and experienced riders are offered through the DHSMV's Florida Rider Training Program (FRTP). Courses are offered throughout Florida and cover strategies and techniques on managing the riding environment and how to avoid being involved in a crash. The course also offers on-cycle sessions to practice these street riding and crash avoidance skills. Completing the course can waive additional testing requirements necessary for a motorcycle operator license. More information about the FRTP is available at the DHSMV main web site.
Part of the DHSMV's mission is to make highways safe for all users and provide important and essential safety information. After all, having a enjoyable and safe ride is the goal of all motorcyclists.
Motorcycle Sport Touring Association
About the MSTA
The Motorcycle Sport Touring Association (MSTA) was founded in 1982 and is chartered by the American Motorcyclist Association. The MSTA was originally chartered as the Honda Sport Touring Association (HSTA) but recently changed it's name to reflect its true purpose an association of motorcyclists that like to ride no matter the brand. The primary purpose of the club is to bring together riders whose focus is motorcycle sport touring regardless of type or brand of motorcycle. There are members throughout the US, Canada, and numerous foreign countries. Members range in age from late teens to late eighties, with a median age between 35 and 45, and include virtually all socioeconomic strata. The majority of our members ride sport touring bikes.
You will be joining a truly outstanding group of motorcycle sport touring enthusiasts! You will find our membership to be comprised of others just like yourself who are looking for a quality motorcycling experience. We tend to have an insatiable thirst for knowledge, we love to take trips - long and short, we enjoy spending our time together discussing our favorite subject - motorcycles! But mostly, we love to ride, to go with a flair towards adventure - little luggage, a full gas tank, and some money in the wallet (You might want to throw in some twisty roads, and hills too). The MSTA is quite a dynamic organization, where Safety, Fun, Camaraderie, and Riding Skills Enhancement are values shared by all.
MSTA members consider themselves true enthusiasts and are often found riding when weaker souls are grounded by "bad weather". The club differs from some other groups in that most of its members don't care for riding in large groups and, once a destination has been selected, will split into twos and threes, each group selecting their own pace and routes. In addition to local gatherings in most states each month, many other activities, such as MSF rider courses, campouts, overnighters are regularly organized. Highways, canyons or even off road - wherever or however, MSTA has members who do your kind of riding. We concentrate on safe, sane riding at The Pace - not fast, not slow, but just right.
